The Lucky Ones

Wesley

Name: Wesley Wyndham-Pryce (also known as Wes)
Place of Birth: England (we assume)
Type: Human / Watcher
History: Wesley was sent to Sunnydale as the replacement Watcher when Giles was fired. He had little control over Buffy and lost Faith completely to the Mayor's team.
His Watcher's technique is somewhat bumbling; his capturing of Faith was marred slightly by her escape, and Buffy quit the Council while under his control. Quite often he had little to contribute to the gang (his specialty being whimpering when wounded and screaming like a woman) but his intentions were always honourable.
He enjoyed a brief flirtation with Cordelia but there were no sparks when they eventually kissed.
After defeating the Mayor-Snake, he was fired from the Watcher's Council and took up as a "Rogue Demon Hunter", swapping his Watcher's suits for Biker's leather.
He eventually found himself in LA with Angel and Cordelia, where his sincerity, enthusiasm to help and considerable research skills won him a place at Angel Investigations where he helps fight the good fight.
His past is fuzzy; he appears to have had a domineering father who locked him under the stairs for hours on end and it would appear that Wesley is trying to make him proud of who he has become… with little success, even though he eventually became the boss of Angel Investigations.
After kidnapping Connor, for the boy’s own good or so he thought, and having Connor stolen from him by Holtz and his little helper, Wes turned to the dark side. Holtz’ helper had slit Wes’ throat, although not enough to kill him. However the impact of his plan going wrong, finding out the prophecy was wrong and Angel trying to kill him, were enough to turn Wesley completely rouge, enough even to have him begin a slightly twisted relationship with Lilah.
Eventually though, after much persistence from Fred and eventually the other members of Angel Inc, Wesley was accepted back into the fold by Angel, especially after Wesley sudden apology over something.
Things went a little awry for the ex-Watcher, when he though the only way to defeat the beast was to turn Angel in Angelus. The plan was somewhat flawed, although this was difficult for Wes to have predicted. The icky predicament led him to Faith, who busted out of Jail to help save Angel, and lead to her being in another coma, although this one was induced by the mystical drug Orpheus, which she agreed to inject to get Angelus.
Wesley had his heart pulled at when Lilah, whom he’d beheaded, came back to life to offer Angel Inc the chance to take full control over the LA branch of Wolfram & Hart. After that he became head of his own department, and after some time, finally got the girl of his dreams, Fred, only to have her torn away from him again. He took in the demon Illyria, though what we can assume is pity or a need to still have his beloved Fred in his life. In the final showdown, Wesley died in Illyria/Fred’s arms as she turned herself into Fred for his dying moments.
