Origin: Old English (It is also Chinese surname.)
Meaning: ‘meadow’ Can be used for both boys and girls. (In America, Lee is more likely to be a boy.) Lee became very popular in the sixties, both as a first and second name. It is still frequently found. This phonetic spelling is probably to be preferred to Leigh, although both are often used.
